Travel Itinerary

Day 1: - Arrival in Moshi

Day 2: - Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

        • Activities: Transfer to Londorossi Gate; begin trekking to Mti Mkubwa Camp.
        • Accommodation: Overnight camping at Mti Mkubwa Camp.
        • Details: After breakfast, transfer to Londorossi Gate (2,250m) to start the trek. Hike through lush rainforest, home to a variety of wildlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) in the late afternoon, where you'll set up camp, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 3: - Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

        • Activities: Trek from Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp via the Shira Plateau.
        • Accommodation: Overnight camping at Shira 1 Camp.
        • Details: Today's trek takes you through the rainforest and onto the expansive Shira Plateau (3,505m). Enjoy panoramic views of Kilimanjaro's western slopes and the surrounding landscapes. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp (3,610m), set up camp, and relax for the evening.

Day 4: - Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

        • Activities: Trek from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp via the moorland zone.
        • Accommodation: Overnight camping at Shira 2 Camp.
        • Details: Continue trekking across the Shira Plateau, gradually gaining altitude as you enter the moorland zone. Marvel at the unique vegetation and volcanic rock formations along the way. Day 5: - Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Moir Hut

Day 6: - Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp

        • Activities: Trek from Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp via the Northern Circuit.

Day 7 - Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp

Day 9: - Summit Day - School Hut to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

  • Activities: Summit attempt via Gilman's Point to Uhuru Peak; descent to Mweka Camp.
  • Accommodation: Overnight camping at Mweka Camp.
  • Details: Begin the summit bid just after midnight, aiming to reach Gilman's Point (5,681m) by dawn. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to School Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp (3,100m). Celebrate your accomplishment and rest for the night.

Day 10: - Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

  • Activities: Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate; transfer to Moshi.
  • Accommodation: Overnight stay at a hotel in Moshi.
  • Details: After breakfast, continue the descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m). Collect your summit certificates, say goodbye to your crew, and transfer back to Moshi. Celebrate your accomplishment with a well-deserved rest at the hotel.
