Travel Itinerary

Day 1: - Arrival in Moshi

  • Details: Arrive in Moshi, meet your guide, and attend a pre-climb briefing. Your guide will review the climb itinerary, conduct an equipment check, and address any last-minute questions or concerns.

Day 2: - Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

          • Activities: Transfer to Marangu Gate; begin trekking to Mandara Hut.
          • Accommodation: Overnight stay at Mandara Hut.
          • Details: After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate (1,870m) to start the trek. Hike through dense rainforest, home to various wildlife and exotic plants. Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,720m) in the late afternoon. Settle into the dormitory-style huts, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 3: - Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

          • Activities: Trek from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut.
          • Accommodation: Overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
          • Details: Continue the trek through the rainforest before transitioning into the moorland zone. Enjoy views of Mawenzi Peak and the expansive landscape. Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m) in the early afternoon. Settle into the huts, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day's trek

Day 4: - Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

          • Activities: Acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Ridge.
          • Accommodation: Overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
          • Details: Spend the day acclimatizing with a hike to Zebra Rocks (4,000m) or Mawenzi Ridge (4,315m). Return to Horombo Hut for lunch and rest. This acclimatization day helps your body adjust to the altitude, increasing your chances of a successful summit. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the ascent.

Day 5: - Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

          • Activities: Trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut.
          • Accommodation: Overnight stay at Kibo Hut.
          • Details: Continue trekking through the alpine desert zone, with sparse vegetation and stunning views. Arrive at Kibo Hut (4,703m) in the early afternoon. Rest, hydrate, and prepare for the early morning summit bid. Have an early dinner and go to bed early.

Day 6: - Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

          • Activities: Summit attempt via Gilman's Point to Uhuru Peak; descent to Horombo Hut.
          • Accommodation: Overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
          • Details: Start the summit bid just after midnight, aiming to reach Gilman's Point (5,681m) by dawn. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut. Celebrate your accomplishment and rest for the night.

Day 7 - Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

        • Activities: Descend from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate; transfer to Moshi.
        • Accommodation: Overnight stay at a hotel in Moshi.
        • Details: After breakfast, continue the descent through the moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate (1,870m). Collect your summit certificates, say goodbye to your crew, and transfer back to Moshi. Celebrate your accomplishment with a well-deserved rest at the hotel.
